Step 3 - Offer

All bids received will be put in priority order to produce a list of eligible applicants for each home advertised. The landlord of the home will carry out any outstanding eligibility checks, (e.g. rent checks, household circumstance checks).

Those applicants nearest the top of the priority list will normally be invited to view the property (either individually or in open viewing appointments), unless there are reasons preventing an invitation.  For example if you have any rent arrears, or re-chargeable repairs outstanding, or any tenancy condition breaches where the Council may be taking legal action. If we are unable to offer the home to the applicant at the top of the list we will move to the next applicant and so on.

Successful applicants will be contacted by phone soon after the closing data to arrange viewing of the property (it may be a multiple viewing), and possible moving in dates. Whilst there is generally no penalty for refusing a property offer, if you persistently ‘bid’ for properties and do not accept an offer without good reason, A1 Housing may review your housing application to see if you do actually require re-housing.

Unsuccessful applicants will not be contacted directly.  The results will be published on the website, in our advertising locations within the property shops at Retford and Worksop so that unsuccessful applicants will be able to find out how long they may have to wait for a particular locality / dwelling type.
